MonNoroit - Two Months In

October 5, 2026

On August 3, New Brunswick Day, the Northwest Regional Service Commission (NWRSC) launched MonNoroit in Grand Falls. In French, the app's first language, it's Mon Noroît. It's one bilingual app for the whole region: events, jobs, local resources, a daily community dashboard and an AI assistant that answers in French or English.

Two months in, more than 1,400 people have joined. Denis M. Pelletier, the Commission's Economic Development Coordinator, worked with our team from the first plan to launch day. He rated the partnership 5.5 out of 5.

"…one of the best professional relationships and partnerships I've had the pleasure of having with a company in my 35+ year professional career."

About the client

The Northwest Regional Service Commission (Commission de services régionaux Nord-Ouest) is one of New Brunswick's 12 regional service commissions. It serves seven communities: Edmundston, Grand Falls, Haut-Madawaska, Saint-Quentin, Vallée-des-Rivières, the Northwest Rural District and the Madawaska Maliseet First Nation, about 45,000 people in all. Its board brings together elected leaders from across the region.

Artwork our team made for MonNoroit: one illustration for each community.

The Commission started with land-use planning and waste management. Since New Brunswick's 2023 local governance reform, it also leads regional economic development, community development and tourism promotion. MonNoroit is how the Commission delivers on all three for residents, newcomers and visitors.

The project

The region includes the Madawaska, home of the Brayons, a French-speaking people with deep roots in farming and forestry, and the Madawaska Maliseet First Nation. In Edmundston, more than 9 in 10 people speak French as their first official language. So the Commission made MonNoroit French first, down to its name: noroît is the French word for the northwest wind.

MonNoroit is our first true regional app. The region's communities are spread out, so the Commission wanted an app that puts each person's own community first. You pick your home community, and the app shows its events, jobs and resources by default. A region toggle lets you move from community to community or see the whole region at once. That way, every town can promote the others' events, jobs and attractions.

What we built

  • A daily community dashboard: local weather, school bus delays and cancellations, and FlexGo transit information
  • Events from across the region in one place
  • A job board fed by Job Bank, Extra-Mural NB and Ambulance New Brunswick, with a healthcare category and an AI job matcher
  • 276+ bilingual resources for residents and newcomers, each linked to its official source
  • An AI assistant that answers questions in French or English
  • French app store listings, a bilingual website and launch posters, postcards and banners, designed French first
MyNoroit timeline: first meeting Sept 2025, green light Apr 22, 2026, launch day Aug 3, 2026, 103 days later, two months live Sept 30, 2026 with nearly 1,400 users

The Commission gave the green light on April 22, 2026, and MonNoroit launched 103 days later. We moved our schedule up a few weeks so it could open on New Brunswick Day.

Launch day

MonNoroit launched at Grand Falls' New Brunswick Day celebration. Organizers moved the event indoors the day before because of rain, and thousands of people still came through. The Commission's team and ours spent the day showing people the app.

Two months in

More than 1,400 people have joined MonNoroit, and the number keeps growing. They include long-time residents and newcomers settling into the region, in all seven communities the Commission serves, from Saint-Quentin to Haut-Madawaska.

In Denis' words

"From the big-picture vision to the smallest implementation details, my experience with Welcome Platform, its team, and its product has been nothing short of exceptional. Whether discussing strategy at a high level or rolling up our sleeves to overcome challenges and deliver our app, the Welcome Platform team has consistently demonstrated professionalism, dedication, responsiveness, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

I confidently give them a 5.5 out of 5-star rating across every aspect of our collaboration.

What truly sets Welcome Platform apart is that our relationship never felt like a traditional vendor-client arrangement. From day one, they became a genuine extension of our team, invested not only in delivering a product but also in ensuring our long-term success. Their collaborative approach, transparency, and ability to listen and understand our needs created a level of trust that is rare in today's business environment.

In more than 35 years of professional experience, I can honestly say that this has been one of the most rewarding and effective partnerships I have had the privilege to build. The team's commitment to quality, attention to detail, and willingness to go above and beyond consistently exceeded our expectations.

Beyond the exceptional relationship, their depth of knowledge, technical expertise, and ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements were truly impressive. No challenge seemed too complex, and every request was met with thoughtful consideration, practical solutions, and a genuine desire to help us achieve our goals.

Choosing Welcome Platform was one of the best decisions we made. If you're looking for more than a service provider, if you're looking for a trusted partner who is fully invested in your success, Welcome Platform is the team you want by your side. Not choosing Welcome Platform means missing out on what could very well be the partnership of a lifetime."
